KEY INGREDIENTS

  • 32PPM Proprietary Silver: Purified water and nano-silver particles at a microscopic .01 micron for deep, effective coverage.
  • Propylene Glycol: Helps the skin retain moisture, preventing the wound from drying out.
  • Carbomer & Triethanolamine: Creates a stable, thick hydrogel consistency that stays exactly where you apply it.

HOW TO USE

  • Wash your hands with soap and water before touching the wound.
  • Carefully clean the wound using soap and water or an appropriate commercial brand of wound cleanser.
  • Dispense CareSTAT® Wound Dressing Gel on an appropriate clean applicator (such as a tongue depressor or gauze) in a sufficient amount to liberally cover the wound. Cover the gel with an appropriate secondary dressing cover such as gauze bolster, dressing wrap, film, or non-woven adhesive secondary dressing.

CHANGING THE DRESSING

  • Carefully remove the secondary dressing from the wound.
  • Residual CareSTAT® Wound Dressing Gel may be removed with the cover dressing.
  • Follow instructions above to re-apply the gel.

FREQUENCY OF CHANGE

CareSTAT® Wound Dressing Gel should normally be changed every 24 to 72 hours, but the frequency will depend on the type and condition of the wound.

FAQ

CARESTAT

What makes CareSTAT different from the regular Silver Gel?

CareSTAT is a practitioner-grade hydrogel with a higher concentration of silver (32PPM). It is specifically designed for serious wound management (like 2nd-degree burns or surgical incisions) where a moist wound environment is required under a dressing.

How often do I need to change a CareSTAT dressing?

CareSTAT is designed for long-lasting protection. Depending on the wound type, the dressing typically only needs to be changed every 24 to 72 hours.

Can I use CareSTAT for mouth ulcers?

Unlike our 24PPM Silver Gel, CareSTAT is for external use only. It should not be used in the mouth or eyes. For oral issues, please use the standard Argasol Silver Gel.

Why is 32PPM silver better for serious wounds?

Higher concentrations provide a more robust antimicrobial environment. In serious wounds, the bacterial load is higher, and 32PPM ensures the dressing itself remains sterile for longer periods (up to 72 hours).

Can CareSTAT be used on deep puncture wounds?

CareSTAT should be used for topical management. For deep punctures, always consult a healthcare professional first to ensure the wound is cleaned properly before sealing it with a dressing.

Is the hydrogel clear? Can I see the wound healing through it?

Yes. The gel is transparent, allowing you or your doctor to monitor the wound for signs of healing or infection without needing to disturb the gel layer.

What should I do if the gel dries out before the 72-hour mark?

If the dressing becomes dry, carefully moisten it with sterile saline before removal to avoid tearing the new skin, then re-apply a fresh, liberal layer of CareSTAT.

Does CareSTAT help with scarring?

By maintaining a "moist wound environment," CareSTAT prevents hard scabs from forming. Moist healing is clinically proven to reduce the likelihood and severity of permanent scarring.
